Something about my Family...

Since I was born I live in the Bavarian Town Augsburg, an old city founded by the Romans 15 b. Christ. Since a very long time now I am married with Monika, and I have two child's, Katharina and Christian.

My hobbies are mostly related to sports, I play soccer (this is also true for the whole family), and I like to ride my bicycle as much as possible. During winter time there are more sports I like, for example I go skiing and play ice-hockey. And of course, I spent a lot of my free time as acting coach of our local soccer team (juniors) and WebMaster of the Sports club Bergheim, where my son is playing, and also with the woman's soccer team of TSV Schwaben Augsburg, where my wife and my daughter are playing and coaching.

Additionally I very often sit in front of my PC, beside other things I am looking for internet themes, this has been started a long time ago, actually with the Fido Network.

One time with NCR .. always with NCR ..

After school, I started my career in 1972 at NCR, Customer Services Division. I have supported Mainframe (Server) Operating Systems (running under the NCR proprietary Operating System VRX/E) the for more than 20 years, used in NCR Century, Criterion and Series 9800 systems. In 1990, I started to work on so called "open" systems, besides others UNIX systems (NCR MP-RAS) and Windows NT. Of course I also have used many different PC's generations (starting with an old CP/M system), currently I use Windows NT and Windows XP [tm].

From 1995 to 2008 I was working in the Global Discipline Management team, where I was responsible for Knowledge Creation and Knowledge Management. Additional functions are the administration of Lotus Notes servers and users, administration of the German Remote Support WEB sites, support of the European Remote Support Teams etc.

Retail is Life :-)

2008 I returned to the roots of my business life, now I'm working again as a Software Support Specialist, now in the Retail area. Our department supports customers in the Retail environment (Distributed Point of Sales Systems) in many countries in Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK, Ireland, Czech, Hungary, Slovenia, Greece etc.) more or less around the clock.
